TAC is a town committee that was formed in 2000 as mandated in the town charter. The Arts Council strives to build community through the arts, thus enhancing the quality of life and contributing to economic development in Tiverton. Each member of the Arts Council serves for a minimum of 2 years, following his/her appointment by the Town Council.
The Arts Council advises the Town Council about developments related to the arts that affect the town, including legislation, zoning and the availability of grants to support the arts.
The Arts Council is responsible for exhibitions of work by regional artists in Tiverton's town hall and for creation of educational programs geared to both children and adults in Tiverton.
Its current objectives are to expand participation of the community and the outreach of creativity through engaging events.
Established and new artists are invited to exhibit their works in Tiverton's Town Hall, 343 Highland Road, Tiverton. The Tiverton Town Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. and are encouraged to complete our General Calling for Artists form here.
JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2017: "Winter Scenes"
The Tiverton Art's Council's January/February show will be "Winter Scenes". All are invited to electronically submit any picture to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Images will be printed letter sized and hung at Town Hall on January 3rd, 2017. A total of 55 images will be accepted. Hard copy artwork may be brought to Town Hall on January 3rd between 9-11 AM.
A gallery reception will be held on Sunday, January 8th, 2:00PM.
