90 New Exhibitors Expected for Fine Furnishings & Fine Craft Shows
in Milwaukee & Providence

Due to a remarkable increase of exhibitor interest, both Fine Furnishings & Fine Craft Shows – Milwaukee & Providence have expanded exhibit space and maximized floor plans for exhibitor displays. At least 40 new exhibitors are expected at the Milwaukee show set to take place at the Midwest Airlines Center on September 29 & 30. Nearly 50 new artisans will exhibit at the Providence show at the Rhode Island Convention Center on October 26 – 28. Some of this increased interest is due to the exciting addition of the Fine Craft category, but there will also be many new furniture and home décor accessory makers at both shows as well.

Among the furniture makers exhibiting at the Milwaukee show for the first time are Gary David, Mark Whitley, Paul Eichenlaub, Earl Walker, Jr. and Thomas Skaggs. Linda Sue Eastman of Winona, Minnesota will display her handtooled leather and carved wood mirrors, chests, tables, chairs and benches. Coming all the way from Napa, California is Jonathan Edie & Chanin Cook whose furniture designs of metal, wood, and stone unite simple forms and striking materials in pieces that enhance an environment. Anna Millea’s booth will feature her hand painted furniture designs. Handcrafted shoji screens will be the center of attention in Mark & Emi Miller’s display. Amid the fine craft exhibitors will be James Popp, who makes exquisite sculptures that feature life-like wood models of birds in unusual sculptural settings. Abstract Expressionist, Ray Zovar will show mosaic furniture, wall fountains, and wall sculpture. Fine art, art glass, wearables, jewelry, and more round-off the offerings from the Milwaukee show exhibitors.

In Providence, David Lunin will proffer traditional furniture designs with a contemporary twist. Hand crafted furniture in the tradition of the arts & crafts style will be shown by Michael Pietragalla. Alberto & Marcella Toro are bringing their unique leather ottomans and benches as well as mirrors and handbags. Jeremy Ballard is a carpenter dedicated to the preservation of historic homes and buildings. Coming all the way from Los Angeles for the first time is master furniture designers and craftsman Todd Ouwehand who creates custom, art furniture. David Llewellyn produces jewelry chests and lamps from premium solid hardwoods. The wearable art by Elise Winters is unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry personally handcrafted by the artist. Quilts by Julie Filatoff, metal jewelry, tabletop and wall pieces by Karen Krieger, luxurious, colorful, clothing made from handmade fabric by Suzanne Lovejoy, playful sculptures by Lyle Rudloff, and custom leather shows by Robert Mathews are a few of the unique offerings from the Providence show exhibitors.

Each Fine Furnishings & Fine Craft Show provides a venue for artisans to meet with designers, decorators, collectors, members of the media, and the general public to make direct sales, initiate commissions, and generate publicity about their work. Many dedicated exhibitors have developed long-term relationships with clients they originally met at previous fine furnishings shows. The shows are open to artists and designers residing and working in North America who are the principal behind the design and craftsmanship of the work. All work must be originally designed, handcrafted and appropriate for home decor. Artisans interested in applying to exhibit in either or both shows may download an application from the website: FineFurnishingsShow.com. Alternatively, they may call 401 841-9201 to have an application faxed or mailed.

Both fine furnishings shows are officially endorsed by The Furniture Society, a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization founded in 1996 to support the creation of fine studio furniture that is produced in a small shop environment, rather than a large factory.

The Fine Furnishings Shows are owned and produced by KL Communications, Inc., of Newport, Rhode Island, which has over 20 years experience producing consumer and trade shows. Karla Little, President of KL Communications, conceived and launched the Providence show in 1996.
