Wastewater Management operates the sewer collection system within town. We are tasked with managing the new On-Site Wastewater Management Program for individual sewage disposal systems.
ON-SITE WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT: For more information on the wastewater management program, click here.

SEWERS: Our current wastewater collection system consists of a sewer interceptor that runs along Bay Street and the railroad tracks on the western side of North Tiverton from the Fall River town line to the southern edge of the Villages on Mt. Hope Bay condominium project. The interceptor then runs east to the top of the hill on Souza Road. A force main from a pumping station at the industrial park will pump sewage from Industrial Way to the interceptor in Souza Road. Some lateral sewers have been tied into the interceptor. These include spurs on Ford Farm Road, Horizon Drive, Trailer Avenue and the force main for Sakonnet Bay Manor.
On the eastern end of town, Countryview Estates, off of Hurst Lane is sewered. Wastewater from this development flows to a pumping station on Hurst Lane and is pumped into the Fall River collection system on Hancock Street.
The Wastewater Management Commission has used Community Block Grant money to build some sewers in the far northern end of town between Main Road and Shove Street. Wastewater from this area flows to a pumping station at the corner of Mill Street and Canonicus Street and is then pumped into the Fall River Wastewater Collection system.
PROPOSED SEWER CONSTRUCTION IN THE NORTH END OF TOWN: We are currently completing a Wastewater Facilities Plan Update which has again recommended that sewers be installed in the North end of town. This new study has also concluded that sewers should be installed in the Riverside Drive area all the way to the Stone Bridge.
