Lt. Gerald R. Leduc

At approximately 1900 hrs. August 3rd 2008 , Lt. Leduc responded to a report of a man who went overboard from a boat into Stafford pond. Lt. Leduc was part of a dive team who was searching for the lost subject when he suddenly had difficulty and went into cardiac arrest. He was rushed back to shore where despite all resuscitative efforts, he succumbed to his injury. He was promoted Posthumously to the rank of Lieutenant. He was also awarded the Tiverton Fire Department Medal of Honor and the Medal of Valor, as well as the I.A.F.F. Medal of Honor for his heroic actions on Stafford Pond. |

The Tiverton Fire Fighters Honor Guard and the entire fire department assembled at the funeral home to escort Lt. Leduc to St.Theresa’s Church in Tiverton.
